Rocon Uses Adobe Flash Technology to Present State-of-the-Art Water Saver for Resistance Welding
Hazel Park, MI (PRWeb) December 18, 2006 -- Rocon LLC is using Adobe® Flash® next-generation video technology to present the state-of-the-art in monitoring cooling water to resistance welding cells.
Visitors to the Rocon website (www.roconllc.com) can view a Flash movie that features colorful animation to demonstrate the benefits of DeltaPoint® water savers and tip-loss monitors in protecting critical welds.
Rocon's new Flash movie leverages the innovations in Flash Player 9, the cross-platform runtime introduced in June 2006 for dynamic Internet applications, and other recently released products of Adobe Systems Incorporated. The two-minute movie delivers an intriguing user experience while showcasing the role of DeltaPoint® monitors in resistance welding applications.
"The movie's powerful animation and supportive narrative give viewers a good understanding of how DeltaPoint® monitors help assure quality in resistance welding," said Ron Dugas, sales manager for Rocon LLC. "Flash technology provides a powerful tool for emphasizing our product's high reliability in providing adequate water to weld tips, transformers and cables."
DeltaPoint® monitors sense tip loss in resistance welding cells by comparing total inflow and outflow of cooling water to the cell. DeviceNet interface is a standard feature of the DeltaPoint® units which monitor flow and temperature, provide flow comparisons and detect leaks in multiple weld devices.
The DeltaPoint® monitors can provide sensitive tip-loss detection in welding guns, robotic work cells or non-robotic hard tooling. One DeltaPoint® unit can monitor up to 13 welding tips.
DeltaPoint® tip-loss monitors are equipped with vortex shedding flowmeters that require minimal maintenance, are not affected by dirt in water, and have no moving parts to clog, wear or repair. The flowmeters are bench-calibrated to minimize possibility of nuisance tripping.
Two flowmeters are used in the monitors to measure water flow in and out and compare flow rate and temperature. If a leak is detected, an alarm is sent to the robot to stop welding, and the water is shut off. The monitor will not allow the welder to operate without water flow, even in bypass mode.
Rocon DeltaPoint® tip-loss monitors feature remote shutoff and restart and are programmable for leak rate alarm, time delay, restart delay, temperature fault level, flow okay and minimum flow indication. Models in the DeltaPoint® series accommodate cooling flows up to 12 gallons per minute (45.4 liters per minute) and water temperatures up to 230 degrees F (110 degrees C).
Rocon website visitors can access the Flash movie by clicking on "See Product Video Now!" under the DeltaPoint® image on the homepage. Viewers can use a form at the end of the movie to submit contact information to Rocon. More information about DeltaPoint® is also available by calling Rocon LLC at (800) 870-5403 or (248) 542-9635, or by emailing the company at sales@roconllc.com.
